  • Lookdowns (Selene vomer) is a large schooling predator in the Jack family. They are an amazing bright silver color, and extremely thin. But don't let that fool you, as they are incredibly fast. They need to be acclimated very slowly (dripped for 3-4 hours), and may act oddly for a few days. But after a week, they are bulletproof. Their skin is very sensitive to the oil in our skin, and will turn red and possibly blister if touched. Always use gloves when handling these fish, so as to not damage their delicate skin. These have been bred in captivity. They are similar to the Moonfish, but have longer fins.
