Rock Boring Urchins are a smaller (generally less than 3") urchin with short but sharp spines. They can either be black or brown and eat detritus and algae, but also will bore cutouts in your rock. They can damage corals, so be careful in a reef environment. They are nocturnal, and like to hang out on the undersides of rock during the day.
