  • Banded Coral Shrimp are a beautiful red and white striped shrimp with long white antennae. Unlike a lot of shrimp, they actually have claws that make them look menacing. They occasionally act as cleaners towards your fish too. They look very attractive in a reef, mixed reef, or peaceful tank. They tend to hang out in caves, and become more active at feeding times. Females tend to be larger and have a purple coloration underneath. They are very aggressive towards one another, and should be kept one per tank, or as an established pair. If two non-mated shrimp are put together, the larger (usually the female) will rip the arms off the smaller one, and may eventually even eat it.
