The Southern Stingray (Hypanus americanus) is a large whiptailed ray common in the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. The disc on an adult female can be nearly 5' wide, so it goes without saying that these rays need a very large aquarium, or plans need to be made in advance of donating it to your local public aquarium when it outgrows yours! The rays we sell will have a disc 8-9" wide at most, but will still need a very large aquarium. Similar care as the yellow stingray, and of course have a venomous spine on the tail that must be accounted for at all times.
