  • The Atlantic Trumpetfish (aulostomus maculatus) is a large predator that "shadow feeds". It typically drifts in a vertical (head down) position in gorgonians or other structures. It opens it's mouth and inhales prey similar to a grouper. They can be a bit sensitive at first, so acclimate very slowly. They do grow large however, to 2' or so.
